Hi there, and welcome to my website! My name is John Wise, and I’m excited to have you here.
I created FightTheNoise.org for one main reason: to help people reduce noise pollution.
As you may have guessed, I enjoy a peaceful and quiet environment. It helps me to think more clearly and deeply so I can tap into my creativity. I’m sure everyone can benefit from having some peace and quiet, too!
Unfortunately, modern society doesn’t make things very easy for most of us.
We are constantly bombarded with sounds coming at us from all angles – TVs, smartphones, cars, and all types of machines and heavy-duty equipment. You probably are aware of the harmful effects unwanted sound over a long period can have on your health and well-being.
Don’t take this the wrong way, though.
I understand that it is not practical to live a truly meaningful life in today’s world without many of our modern gadgets and pieces of noise-generating equipment. But we definitely can find a way to strike a balance between unwanted (mostly distracting) noise and acceptable sound levels.
I’m pretty sure finding this balance – looking for a more practical solution to noise pollution – is what has drawn you to my website.
Here’s the good news.
On this site, you will find plenty of educational posts centered on soundproofing. You’ll learn about the different types of soundproofing materials available.
Plus, I’ll walk you through the various methods for blocking out both indoor noise and distracting sounds coming from the road into your living or working space.
My background in the use of firearms combined with several years of installing soundproofing systems for homes and offices gives me an edge when it comes to blocking out sound.
If you are a ranger, hunter, or gun enthusiast, you will find several useful articles and guides on this site that can help you decide what type of suppressor or silencer to use for your specific purpose.
You will also find tips, recommendations, regulations, and pieces of advice on how to use a silencer legally without running into trouble with the authorities.
And if you have a knack for building stuff from scratch, you will be happy to find pointers on this website that will help you design your own custom-made silencer. Just enter “homemade” or “DIY” in the search bar and you should have a handful of do-it-yourself guides for your projects.
Plus, to help you get good-quality materials for your soundproofing systems, I have included several buying guides and product recommendations so you’ll see the best products to buy.
FightTheNoise.org is a work in progress. So, be sure to be on the lookout because I will be adding more helpful stuff regularly.
